My first camera, a Nikon D3500, was a Christmas present in 2019. The pictures were shot with the Kit 18-55mm f/3-5-5.6, 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 and 35mm f/1.8. All the pictures are taken in Austria. Looking back now at these first attempts of both handling the camera and finding interesting subjects/landscapes and compositions, I can’t help but notice the progress I have made over the years. I upgraded within 2 years to a Nikon Z5, and I am happy I did so, but retrospectively the limiting factor was not the gear (it usually isn’t). Of course looking back at my editing style back then, I am not very pleased, but hey, part of the purpose of this website is to document my progress.
